TrueIDE is a converter allowing you to use two Compact Flash cards with your
IDE controller. TrueIDE even permits to prep CF cards, that other converters
can only use as removable devices, as hard disk drives, including the ability
to install an operating system and boot off the card.
IDE Interface
TrueIDE features two 40-pin IDE connectors, so you can mount the adapter
either horizontally or vertically. The picture above shows the TrueIDE converter
being mounted horizontally on a
Buddha "phoenix edition" controller,
the picture on the right hand side shows a vertical mount on a PC IDE controller.
Compact Flash Slots
TrueIDE comes with two CF slots, one acting as IDE Master and one as
IDE Slave drive. You can easily swap the Master/Slave setting pressing
and holding Reset for four seconds, a convenient way to select another
boot device without hassle (works even with the dumbest OS ever
Windows).
The images do not show the actual scope of the delivery, we won't include
a Buddha controller, a PC board or a CF card unless expressly stated otherwise. :-)
